Do I Need to File a Lawsuit to Receive a Recovery?

Justin L. Smith (1977 – 2022): You do not have to file a lawsuit to get a recovery. Oftentimes, particularly in auto injury claims here in Tuscaloosa and throughout the Black Belt, we see that we are able to resolve cases with the insurance company pre-suit by getting in all of your medical records and presenting a package to the insurance company to maximize result. If that doesn’t work, then we move on to a lawsuit. Our clients, we oftentimes will find, are nervous about litigation because I would say 85 to 90% of the people we represent, this is the first case they’ve ever filed, the first time they’ve ever needed a lawyer. So we try to put them at ease at that and walk them through the process from start to finish and are here to answer any questions and look forward to working with people like that.
