Will I Lose My Job if I File a Workers Compensation Claim?

Video Transcription:

Justin L. Smith (1977 – 2022): Often times when people are hurt on the job they look to file a Worker’s Compensation claim they’re obviously a little bit reluctant because they’re filing a claim against their own employer and don’t want to risk that employment, or risk getting fired. Well, that is an unreal risk that does not exist, because there’s a statute and there’s Alabama Law that specifically says that you cannot be fired or terminated as a result of filing a Worker’s Compensation claim. So you definitely want to do that and there’s no reason to have any trepidation for doing so.

"I am a practicing lawyer who has from time to time referred clients and litigation cases to Cross & Smith for handling. Without exception, the effort and attention to detail by these attorneys have been incredible. I think that is what sets them apart - they leave no stone unturned in their diligent pursuit of justice and fair compensation to those cheated, injured or killed. I highly recommend these guys."
